Ohana team paddler Tom Gallagher placed 1st overall today with a three minute margin in great downwind conditions. “Board flew big downwind” stated Gallagher.

Ohana team had a great day Saturday at the Watermans’ Applied Science Paddle for Humanity Race taking 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th in the unlimited SUP division. Thomas “Maximus” and respected Chuck Patterson fought until the end for 2nd place.

Sanata Barbara Downwinder was dominated by “Gallagher” with a 5 minute gap to 2nd place. Tom said he had a blast surfing on his unlimited SUP.

Jared Vargas has decided to test his abilities on an Ohana Unlimited SUP to place 1st in class. Feedback was board was fun and held its momentum well. Ohana is in process of developing shapes with Jared for Hawaiian waters.

Tom Duryea’s training on the stock prone prototype is going as expected. Watch out! Tom likes this board on his knees.

Exciting for Ohana to have both Tom and Jared aboard.


Ohana Teams Dominate Catalina Crossing with Record Time!!

Ohana 3 man team Rojas, Gallagher and Shahanian raced in true form and timed changes to crush the record in the Catalina 39.6 mile race in 6 hours 4 minutes. Their goal was to break 6 hours. Per Gallagher the penalty was 1000 push ups.

2 man team Deboer brothers placed 1st in 2 man team, 2nd overall over 2 man team Hobie in a close challenge. What a feat!!!

Ohana once again showing the depth of the family.

Unfriendly conditions in the Dana Point race was not the best place to be today on an unlimted SUP. However, Rob dug deep through the mess and finished 1st overall. The 12-6 stock boards were the proper fit for the race, being able to work through the bumps and chop.

New team paddler Tom Duryea tested out the new Ohana unlimited prototype in rough conditions . . . finding it picked up the bumps as designed and ran. Feedback was the board is very fast and has a lot of potential with some changes to console, same feed back as team paddler Ron Nelsen in his race. Ohana will be making the changes this week.
